How I work

How I work

Me, Myself and I.

A good thing!

Before the team, before the results, before the next move — there is a person.

And that person is you.

You bring yourself into every decision you make. Every difficult conversation. Every change you resist or embrace. Every relationship you build. Every time you hold back, push too hard, avoid something, doubt yourself or feel certain that you are right.

We tend to look outside ourselves for the answer. At the situation. The other person. The circumstances. The organisation.

But what if the most useful place to look is within?

Because before you can consciously choose how you operate, you need to be able to see how you currently operate.

That is where my work begins.

01 — Know yourself

01 — Know yourself

What happens inside you when things don't go your way?

When someone challenges you. When you don't have the answer. When something you care about is at risk. When you need to make a decision without knowing how it will turn out.

What do you assume? What are you making it mean?

Knowing yourself isn't about having yourself figured out.

It's about becoming able to see what is happening within you while life is happening around you.

Because the more aware you are of what is happening within you, the more consciously you can choose how to respond.

Awareness creates choice.

02 — Lead yourself

02 — Lead yourself

Becoming aware of what drives you is the first step. But awareness alone doesn't change how you operate.

What do you do with what you recognise?

Can you have the difficult conversation even when you fear the consequences? Can you question something you have believed about yourself for years? Can you stay with uncertainty without immediately trying to control it? Can you recognise a reaction without letting it decide what happens next?

You cannot control what happens around you. And you don't consciously choose your first thought, feeling or reaction.

But you can become aware of it, understand what is driving it, and choose how you want to relate and respond.

That is Internal Leadership.

03 — Lead others

03 — Lead others

How you lead yourself shapes how you lead others.

Leadership constantly puts you in situations where other people might think, react or operate differently than you do. How you meet those differences matters.

Your assumptions, beliefs, expectations and blind spots affect what you perceive — and how you respond.

The more aware you are of your own lens, the more you recognise that your perspective is your truth — not necessarily the truth. Someone else may experience the same situation very differently.

Knowing that changes how you meet each other — and how you lead.

The better you understand yourself, the more consciously you can lead yourself.

And the more consciously you lead yourself, the more consciously you can lead others.

You listen more openly and communicate with greater awareness. Handle difficult situations with more ease and from a grounded place. Build stronger relationships. And create an environment where people can thrive, take responsibility and perform at their best.

Internal Leadership creates better leadership.

This is the thinking behind LAYERS.

LAYERS is my structured 24-week leadership development program.

12 modules. 24 individual sessions.

LAYERS takes you on a journey through the different layers that shape how you perceive, think, feel and operate — some you may already recognise, others you may never have questioned or even known were there.

Along the way, you gain deeper insight into yourself, a broader understanding of how life moves, and perhaps a different perspective on what it means to move with it.

As one layer becomes visible, it opens the door to the next.

The aim is not to turn you into someone else.

It is to give you a profound understanding of who you are — and through that understanding, greater freedom to be yourself, without being governed by what you have learned to believe, protect or depend on.

Because how you operate doesn't only affect how you lead.

It reaches far beyond work. It affects how you live your life.

This is the philosophy. Explore the program.
